Wild Ride Wednesday – Makings of a high number on the scoreboard.
I’m going to put an end to the flank strap debate for those of you that think you know. A) They aren’t around genitals, tell me how that would be done on a mare….and B) How does one apply or get a job of tying private parts for rodeos, in fact I’veΒ never met one person with that occupation. Do you ever see anyone in the chute under the animal doing this?
Also it’s quite the opposite, if the flank is too tight a horse won’t buck. It is snug, and as my grandfathers described ‘it’s more of a tickle and that’s why they kick, and if too tight it’s uncomfortable and won’t perform.’
I never understood why ‘those’ people would think we would torture animals that are our lively hood…best feed, top notch vets if there is a problem. Rested from the arena if needed…they are athletes. Shit, I wish i could work 8, or possibly 16 seconds a week and get pampered the way roughstock animals are.
